Current Scam going around is the FREE Medical Alert system, do not give out any information, do not press any buttons, simply hang up the phone.  

Another Current scam is being placed a phone call from the IRS and asking to provide payment for back taxes of face prosecution or jail.  Ignore and hang up, the IRS does not contact people by phone, and no legitimate company or government department will ask for payment over the phone. There is also an article about this here.  The IRS and the Social Security Administration do not call people requesting information or payments over the phone. Please do not respond or give out any information, including your name.  Just hang up.

Another money grab is being seen around town from the Record Transfer Services located in Westlake Village or Thousand Oaks California. They want you to send them a processing fee to obtain a copy of your property profile, and your record of property ownership deed.  This is not a scam, however the information they provide can be found for free on the City website and your deed information can be obtained at the County Clerks office for a much smaller fee then they are asking. Please don't waste your money on this service.
